Alabama Black Snakes’ was born on the bayou of the Danish outskirts; the true country-side in the
South of Scandinavia, in the depraved middle of Zealand, inhabited by drunks and desperados.
These five guys play their own kind of blues rock, drawing from inspirations such as southern rock,
delta blues, boogie- and classic rock mixed up in a bowl of energetic music the boys often refer to
themselves, in lack of better terms, as ‘outskirts rock’.
The members are all childhood friends, who grew up on the country side in an environment of endless cornfields, punk music and empty bus stops. A vibe that is still very present in the musical-and lyrical universe of Alabama Black Snakes, where themes such as escapism, regret, shame and alcohol go hand in hand with joi de vivre, cheerful recklessness, and hopefully a pinch of humour.
With a traditional set up of guitars, bass and drums and as an extra spice, a bluesharp player, the
band has toured abroad and most of the Danish venues where their energetic live-shows have
become somewhat infamous.
Since their debut in 2011, the band has released two full length albums, “Rhythm n’ Loose” in 2011 and ‘SHAKE IT LIKE THE LORD AIN’T WATCHING’ in 2014
Their current album is entitled” TO THE LAND”, and consists of 8 songs, ranging from classic riff-driven rock bangers and fast paced rockabilly explosions to more quiet country inspired ballads.
The album is the result of a somewhat long process, where the band has re-defined their musical style, from being a more genre-oriented Southern rock band to standing on their own two feet in the soil of Rock n’ Roll, without forgetting the inspirations: Blues music, Southern rock, hillbilly punk, endless benders, tobacco, sweat, piss and shame.
